Here are just a few things that have been giving me life this month!
Seeing as January is probably the most depressing month of the year, I decided I needed to find something to keep me focused on looking forward to the year ahead. I wanted to get a fresh start to 2016 and although I know this is so typical, I felt like a planner would help me with that. I have to say, I didn’t think I’d be very good at sticking to using this bad boy on a regular basis but, so far, I’ve been doing really well! It’s been helping me keep track of my life and I find there’s something really therapeutic about taking time out of my day to plan. It’s also really nice to be able to see what the week ahead is looking like on paper. Plus, this one from Kate Spade is just really cute.
Moving on, I switched out my gold laptop case for this marbled one I got on Amazon at the beginning of the month. I could stare at it all day… Not much more to say about that.
In terms of beauty products, I have discovered some serious gems this month.
Firstly, the Rimmel Exaggerate Automatic Lip Liner in Eastend Snob and the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in Marvelous Mauve #13 have literally been the only two products I’ve applied to my lips this month. The liner is the PERFECT “my lips but better” shade and it provides a natural plumping effect, which I love! The Sephora Collection liquid lipsticks are insanely long lasting and really do not dry out your lips. This is the first one I’ve tried and I’m absolutely loving the colour. Im obsessed, I need to get more of these.
If you weren’t able to get your hands on this BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Holiday Palette in Champagne Glow, I’m really sorry because its bomb. BUT you can buy Champagne Pop (the middle shade) individually which is great because I think its probably the most versatile shade in the palette. It’s a BEAUTIFUL champagne gold shade. This little gem has been keeping me glowing all month long. If you like a poppin’ hilight, then you need these Shimmering Skin Perfectors in your life.
I’ve been wanting to get some sort of contour kit for a while now and I was debating between the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit and the Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette . Based on the reviews I read on the Sephora website, I decided to go with the Kat Von D palette and I’m really happy with the decision so far! I’ve been using the yellow powder (Lyric) to set my under eye concealer, the pinky beige (Lucid) to set the rest of my face, the cool toned brown shade (Sombre) to contour and the warmer toned brown (Shadowplay) to bronze up my face. I havn’t played around with the last two shades yet but I’m sure i’ll get around to it soon enough! I love how easily these powders blend. My ultimate pet peeve when it comes to bronzer and contour powder is patchiness and these do not give me that issue!
Last, but most certainly not least, i’ve completely fallen in love with this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure. I was looking for a deeper, plumier blush for the winter months that was still very natural and wearable for everyday. I had been eyeing the Ambient Lighting blushes for quite some time and when I saw this one, I felt like it was exactly what I was looking for. However, I was hesitant because I hadn’t heard very much about this particular shade. After about half an hour of swatching, I decided to go with my gut and I do not regret my decision! The colour is exactly what I was looking for, the powder blends effortlessly and it leaves your cheeks with a natural looking glow! I’m obsessed, it’s all I’ve been wearing for the past two months.
That concludes this months fave’s. I hope you try out some of these products, they just might change your life 😉
