I knew there were a plethora of beautiful cities in Italy I had yet to see. What I didn’t realize was just how impressed I would be with each new discovery! One particular city you may not have heard of is Bergamo. I assume it’s because there aren’t any major attractions drawing in a large amount of tourists. However, if you’re interested in breathtaking views and medieval cities, you’re likely to enjoy strolling around Bergamo’s Città Alta.
If you have an “extra sweet” tooth, make sure to grab a Polentina di Bergamo from one of the local pastry shops. It’s essentially an almond paste ball filled with chocolate hazelnut filling, drizzled with a warm chocolate hazelnut sauce and sprinkled with sugar. It’s delicious, but be prepared for intense sweetness!
Seeing as there isn’t that much to do in Bergamo besides walk around and enjoy the scenery, I will now let the pictures do the talking!
If you haven’t seen my previous post, make sure you check it out for more information about getting to Bergamo from Milan!
I would love to know if you’ve ever visited Bergamo and if you enjoyed it as much as I did!
